Job Title:Commercial HVAC Technician
Location: On-site Andover MA
Shift: 3rd Shift (TuesdaySaturday 10:00 PM 6:30 AM)
Overview
Join a high-performing facilities team supporting a 24/7 location. This role is heavily hands-on (wrench time) with a strong administrative component requiring proficiency in CMMS and system documentation. You will maintain critical HVAC and refrigeration systems to ensure safe reliable and continuous operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and monitor HVAC/R systems including BAS controls chillers cooling towers boilers and VAV systems
- Respond to alarms troubleshoot issues and implement corrective actions
- Perform preventive corrective and reliability-based maintenance
- Install repair and rebuild HVAC equipment (units pumps motors compressors piping valves heat exchangers)
- Record system data and document all work in CMMS; manage work orders and service requests
- Conduct building rounds and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards
- Support planning scheduling and coordination with vendors and internal teams
- Maintain clean work areas and track materials labor and maintenance records
- Participate in on-call rotation and respond to emergencies
Required Qualifications
- 3 years of HVAC/refrigeration experience in a facilities environment
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid drivers license
- Strong troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude
- Proficiency with CMMS and Microsoft Office
- Working knowledge of refrigeration systems (e.g. walk-in coolers ice machines)
- Knowledge of OSHA standards and safe work practices
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs work with tools/equipment access confined spaces climb ladders and work on rooftops
Preferred Qualifications
- Massachusetts HVAC Contractor or Technician License
- EPA Universal
- Associates degree or technical training in HVAC or related field
- Experience in critical environments and reliability-centered maintenance
- Advanced HVAC/refrigeration certifications
- Experience working with vendors and contracted services
