We are looking for a temporary part -time Art Technician (0.4 FTE) until July 2026. The school currently nearly 400 students (Yrs7 to 13) with 2 dedicated Art classrooms and two preparation rooms. All students study Art up to Year 9 and it is a popular option subject at GCSE. At post-16 students have the opportunity to follow Visual Arts through the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP).
You will provide support through the preparation of materials and equipment for lessons. The Technicians also take responsibility for routine maintenance within the teaching area keeping supplies replenished and the general upkeep of the rooms.
Candidates should have a good standard of education experience of working in a school environment and an understanding of Health & Safety within this setting. It is essential that you are able to communicate clearly in English. We are looking for candidates who can work to their own initiative prioritise workloads well and can think around problems.
Although not essential knowledge of the Dutch language will be considered an advantage as will an Art qualification.
Main Responsibilities will include:
Safeguard and promote the welfare of students
Preparation of resources for teaching staff prior to lessons
Undertake routine maintenance of resources/machines
Supervise students use on specific tasks as requested by teaching staff
Maintain storage areas within Art
Monitor and maintain stock levels of required components and resources
Clear away resources in classroom
Maintain clean and tidy workshop areas
Be aware of and implement H&S responsibilities including reviewing and planning
Assist with reprographics
