Job Summary

Quality Staffing Inc. also doing business as Goddard Mason Executive Search a leading full-service employment agency matching qualified talent with some of the areas top companies is looking for an experienced Audit Managerto work through our agency as a contract employee with the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TN DOT)located in Nashville TN. This is a hybrid position working three (3) days per week (typically Monday through Wednesday) from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. The pay rate for this position is $143.00 per hour. **MUST BE LOCAL TO THE NASHVILLE AREA**

Audit Manager Key Job Responsibilities will include:
  • Audit Leadership:Planning scoping and executing risk-based audits from initiation through report issuance; managing timelines resources and stakeholder expectations.
  • Methodology & Quality:Ensuring work adheres to GAGAS and IPPF standards; overseeing quality review of work papers testing and evidence; resolving issues and escalating risks promptly.
  • Analytics & Tools:Using data analytics and audit software to enhance coverage and efficiency.
  • Planning & Reporting Cadence:Contributing to annual risk assessment and audit plan; providing weekly status updates metrics and escalation of blockers.
  • Risk & Control Assessment:Developing risk and process narratives; designing control testing strategies; identifying root causes; proposing practical risk proportionate remediation.
  • Team Mentorship:Coaching auditors on methodology testing techniques documentation and professional competencies; providing real-time feedback and skills development.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:Leading in entrance/exit meetings; maintaining proactive communication with business owners; delivering clear actionable reports and presentations to management.
  • Issue Management:Validating findings agreeing action plans and owners setting remediation timelines; tracking and verifying corrective actions.
  • Governance & Independence:Maintaining independence and ethics consistent with GAGAS; promptly disclosing and addressing threats to independence; maintaining required CPE per GAGAS.
  • Fraud Waste & Abuse Investigations:Overseeing investigations including intake/triage scoping investigative plans evidence reservation/chain of custody interviews analysis and documentation.

Qualifications for Audit Manager position:
Education:
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance Business Administration or a related field.
  • Advanced degree or graduate coursework in auditing risk management or public administration is a plus.
Professional Experience:
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of progressive experience in internal audit including leading end-to-end audits (performance audits agreed-upon procedures advisory engagements) with proven ability to meet timelines and quality standards.
  • Experience in risk assessment audit planning and reporting to senior leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop audit stafffostering technical and professional growth.
Certifications:
  • Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) required.
  • Additional certifications strongly preferred: Certified Information systems Auditor (CISA) Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Forensic Accountant (CrFA).
Standards & Methodology Expertise:
  • Deep understanding of Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS/Yellow Book)and IIA IPPFstandards.
  • Familiarity with COSO internal control frameworkand government compliance requirements.
Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in audit management software(e.g. Diligent) Microsoft 365 tools(SharePoint Teams) and data analytics/reporting platforms(Excel Power BI ACL).
  • Ability to leverage analytics to enhance audit coverage and efficiency.
Leadership & Communication Competencies:
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple audits concurrentlyresolve issues and escalate risks effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for report writing presentationsand stakeholder engagement.
  • High integrity independence and commitment to professional ethics and confidentiality.
