Animal Care and ControlAbout the Position
As the Media Specialist you will be responsible for producing high-quality visual content that tells the departments story while also managing and safeguarding the organizations digital media assets. You will support the departments mission by capturing compelling photos and videos that highlight programs operations and community impact and by ensuring those assets are properly organized accessible and compliant with applicable policies.
This position may report to any of our shelter locations:
East Shelter: 1920 S. Lewis in Mesa
West Shelter: 2500 S. 27th Avenue in Phoenix

We Require
One year of experience working professionally in videography/photography and/or media relations
Bachelors degree in graphic design communications broadcasting television/radio/film or a related field
Related post-secondary education may substitute for therequiredexperience on a year-for-year basis
Other Requirements
Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona drivers license by the time of hire

Job Contributions
Plan produce and edit high-quality videos and photographs that showcase the departments mission programs animals staff and community impact
Develop compelling visual storytelling content for use across social media websites presentations reports grant submissions and public communications
Create and maintain a content library of photos b-roll and videos that can be reused for future campaigns and outreach efforts
Coordinate basic production logistics including scheduling shoots managing equipment and organizing digital assets
Manage the full lifecycle of digital assets including intake review storage version control updates and long-term archiving
Edit and deliver polished video content including short-form social media videos long-form features training clips and promotional pieces
Review digital assets to ensure they meet accessibility standards including captioning alternative text and formatting as required
Maintain awareness of current trends in video photography and digital storytelling to continuously improve content quality and engagement
Coordinate with IT and leadership on storage needs access permissions security and backup procedures for digital media
Working Conditions
This position works inside a fast-paced office setting within an animal shelter with frequent contact with animals media and the public
Exposure to cleaning products used in animal shelters and the smells associated with animal housing
While performing job duties the employeeis regularly required tosit forlong periodsand occasionally stand and walk on all types of surfaces sometimes slippery uneven and rough
Must be able to lift up to 20-25 lbs. occasionally 10-25 lbs. frequently or up to 10 lbs. constantly
Requires theability to work evenings weekends and holidays as require handling animals occasionally after proper training
May be required to travel between worksites and report to different shelter locations as needed
