This is an advanced level of specialized clerical work in financial counseling cash collections Admit/Screening involving eligibility determination of the Medically Indigent Program. This advanced level worker acts as a lead work over Heath Information Coordinator 1/2 incumbents and trainees.
This is a full-time position located in the Admit / Screening department. The work schedule is 7am-3:30 pm Monday-Friday.Minimum Qualifications
Two years of experience in administrative services in a medical setting.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
- Incumbent will verify insurances policy and group numbers in-network and out-of network for facility and/or physicians.
- Responsible for admit notifications on inpatients observations and ambulatory surgeries.
- Notify Utilization Review Department of Emergency Department admits and direct admits.
- Access to real time eligibility and coverage discovery access to one source and insurance portals.
- Interview patients to obtain demographic and financial info1mation to determine eligibility or non-eligibility for medically indigent program.
- Identify co-pays and deductibles. estimate of standard charges for procedures labs x-rays. calculate twenty percent rule inform self-pay patients of prompt discount program ( 40%) and collect deposits. Issue receipts for clinics Emergency Department and ancillary visits.
- Maintain and balance all monies collected.
- Attend all educational in-services mandatory training and annual review as required by hospital policy and procedure
or deemed necessary by supervisor. - Any and all other duties as assigned to include ensuring departmental coverage.

Appointment Type :Probational Promotional.
Career Progression:This position will be filled as a Health Information Coordinator 3 and is not part of the CPG.
Work Schedule: The incumbent will be required to work 7am-3;30 pm Monday- Friday.
