We are presently accepting resumes for aSummer Studentto provide recruitment and administrative support to the People and Culture department. This is a full-time position starting as soon as April 20 2026 for approximately 4-5 months. This position works up to 37.5 hours biweekly with an hourly rate of pay of $21.43. Please note that this position is contingent upon funding approval through the Federal Government Canada Summer Jobs program.

Minimum requirements of this position include:

  • Completion of secondary school and enrolled in post-secondary education in a closely related field of education which may include business/office administration Human Resources or legal administration or other closely related fields
  • Related experience is an asset
  • A valid class G drivers license and reliable transportation is an asset

Overview of Duties (including but not limited to):

  • Providing recruitment and administrative support to the Department.
  • Filing of documents in employee e-files.
  • Assisting with screening resumes while posting is current upon expiry providing a short-list of qualified applicants to the hiring supervisor for their consideration.
  • Scheduling interviews preparing interview packages and completing references.
  • Attending career fairs to support recruitment needs.
  • Researching and recommending strategies to support strategic inclusive and diverse recruitment.
  • Conducting reference checks for all external applicants and students.
  • Creating and maintaining employees onboarding handbooks that explain Empower Simcoe operations.
  • Researching applicant tracking systems to better support our needs and strategic objectives.
  • Creating e-files for new and existing employees.
  • Filing of documents in employee e-files.
  • Assisting with special projects as .
  • Monitoring the Teams App for visitors to People and Culture department.
  • Providing other administrative support for the department when needed.
