Job Summary

Description

Responsible for managing food and beverage operations ensuring that the departments goals are achieved and maintained. Partner with Culinary Leaders to deliver un-paralleled Service Engagement and Profitability.



Responsibilities
  • Ensures highest degree of operations and customer satisfaction.

  • Build systems and processes to ensure quality operations occur.

  • Determines implements and updates policies and procedures for all food and beverage areas in conjunction with Manager.

  • Accomplishes departmental objectives by recruiting selecting orienting training assigning scheduling coaching counseling and disciplining staff; communicating job expectations; planning monitoring monitoring and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures.

  • Institute cost control procedures and standards of performance and ensure all operational expenses are within budget.

  • Ensures that all hiring practices employee disciplinary actions and expectations of the employees are in accordance with operating procedures.

  • Reports department activity to Manager regularly. Acts as a role model to other employees and always presents oneself as a credit to Harrahs and encourages others to do the same.

  • Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory departmental and company policies.



Qualifications
  • Must be 21 years of age or older

  • Strong leadership employee relations communication managerial and organizational skills are required.

  • Ability to train follow and execute training manuals.

  • 5 years of restaurant industry work including two to three years progressive supervisory experience in a hotel or chain restaurant environment.

  • Must have good analytical abilities.

  • Must present a well-groomed appearance.

  • Must be able to coach co-workers and work as a team for success.

  • Nevada Food Handlers Certification
  • Nevada Alcohol Awareness Certification
  • Nevada Non-gaming (Sheriffs) Certification

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to maneuver to all areas of the property.
  • Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds and carry up to 5 pounds.
  • Must be able to bend reach kneel twist and grip items when working at assigned desk area.
  • Must have manual dexterity and coordination to operate office equipment including a 10 key adding machine PC computers fax machine and photocopier.
  • Must be able to work at a fast pace and stressful situations.
  • Must be able to read write speak and understand English.
  • Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.
