Position Overview
Are you a highly organized faith-driven professional with a knack for strategic communications and governance Living Waters Catholic Separate School Division is seeking an Executive Liaison to serve as the primary administrative and strategic support for the Board and the executive leadership team. This multifaceted role bridges the gap between senior administration the Board of Trustees and communities served ensuring that the division operates with transparency efficiency and a commitment to the Catholic mission.
Key Responsibilities
1. Executive & Governance Support
- Administrative Partnership: Provide high-level administrative support to the Superintendent Deputy Superintendent and Secretary-Treasurer.
- Board Governance: Prepare all Board agenda packages attend meetings record official minutes and track Board directives to ensure full compliance and follow-through.
- Election Support: In municipal election years serve as the Deputy Returning Officer managing notices bylaws and reporting to Alberta Municipal Affairs.
- Project Coordination: Assist in drafting the Three-Year Education Plan Annual Education Results Report and the School Year Calendar.
2. Strategic Communications & Community Relations
- Digital Engagement: Manage and curate content for all Division social media platforms (Facebook Instagram Twitter/X) and the Division website.
- Public Relations: Draft press releases newsletters and community updates to ensure transparent internal and external communication.
- Event Management: Arrange community consultation events Board meetings with municipalities/MLAs and recognition programs.
3. Human Resources & Policy Management
- Policy Development: Assist the Superintendent in the planning and implementation of Board policies and administrative procedures.
- HR Support: Ensure job descriptions and evaluation processes are current and support the recruitment/professional development of office staff.
4. Faith Leadership
- Act as an agent of hope and a witness to the Catholic faith community.
- Promote the Five Marks of Catholic Schools and participate in Division-wide faith initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Proven experience in executive administration governance or communications (public sector or education experience is an asset).
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in social media management website maintenance and digital filing systems.
- Communication: Exceptional writing and editing skills for drafting legal board and public-facing documents.
- Organizational Mastery: Ability to manage complex calendars legal mandates and archival systems with high attention to detail.
- Values-Aligned: A commitment to the mission and identity of Catholic education.
