What You Will do:
The Senior GIS Business Analyst will play a key role in driving operational excellence by analyzing monitoring and optimizing the administration and ongoing development of GrandBridge Energys enterprise Geographic Information System (GIS) platform including ArcGIS Enterprise ArcGIS Online ArcGIS Pro Utility Network and related databases. This role involves overseeing processes within the GIS Team and collaborates with internal teams and external vendors to design and implement GIS solutions that enhance service delivery improve data quality and support corporate objectives. The Analyst leads initiatives in system integration automation quality assurance and user training ensuring GIS technologies are leveraged effectively across the organization. This position plays a key role in promoting a GIS as a Service approach to support key-performance indicators and operational decision-making.
- Provide guidance strategic insight and operational support to the GIS and Asset Management team contributing to initiatives that enhance service delivery strengthen team performance and support broader organizational goals.
- Oversee processes and performance within the team in order to create efficiencies and support innovation initiatives while making recommendations to support continuous improvement efforts. Analyze performance data prepare reports and deliver insights to support planning and service delivery activities.
- Assist in planning monitoring and implementation of operational projects ensuring timely execution and resource effectiveness.
- Collaborate with GIS software vendors technical consultants and internal IT teams to define business and system requirements coordinate software changes and ensure successful GIS-related project delivery.
- Design generate and maintain recurring and ad-hoc spatial reports dashboards and analytical tools to support decision-making for planning inspections capital works and regulatory reporting.
- Conduct system evaluations user acceptance testing (UAT) and performance reviews to ensure GIS platforms integrations and applications meet functional and quality standards.
- Lead GIS quality assurance and control efforts including spatial data validation schema integrity checks and application-level feature testing for upgrades and new deployments.
- Develop and deliver user training programs and technical documentation for GIS tools including ArcGIS Pro Dashboards Survey123 and ArcGIS Online; create and distribute user manuals and job aids.
- Analyze document and continuously improve spatial and non-spatial data workflows supporting change initiatives through automation process optimization and team training.
- Support system integration and configuration by implementing APIs Webhooks and RESTful services between GIS and third-party platforms such as OMS EAM and CIS.
- Promote a GIS as a Service model by advocating for spatial intelligence system adoption and cross-functional collaboration across the organization.
What You Will Bring:
- A four-year university degree in Geographic Information Systems Engineering Technology Computer Science or a related field. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
- 5 years of experience in GIS administration within ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Online environments.
- 5 years of practical experience using Esri GIS platforms including ArcGIS Pro Dashboards Survey123 and ArcGIS Online.
- 3 years of experience in database management and administration (e.g. Microsoft SQL Server Oracle Geodatabases) including writing SQL queries.
- Experience with FME Desktop/Server Power Automate or similar ETL tools.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python/ArcPy Arcade and VBScript; familiarity with HTML or JavaScript is considered an asset.
- Demonstrated experience integrating APIs Webhooks and REST services into GIS workflows.
- Strong communication documentation and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively across departments and with external vendors.
- Valid Class G Drivers License and clean driving record.
- Knowledge of electric utility infrastructure and electrical distribution systems is considered an asset.
- PMP GISP or other relevant professional certification is preferred.
- Experience working in a unionized and/or regulated utility environment is an asset.
