The Woonsocket Career and Technical Center is seeking a passionate and experienced Criminal Justice Career & Technical Education (CTE) Teacher to launch and grow a newly approved Criminal Justice CTE program authorized by the Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE). This is a unique opportunity to help build a program from the ground up and positively impact students preparing for careers in law enforcement public safety corrections and related criminal justice fields. The position will begin part-time during the initial phase of implementation with the expectation of growth to a full-time role as enrollment and program offerings expand.

The CTE Teacher will report directly to the School Director with directives from the School Principal and Assistant Principals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Develop and deliver curriculum aligned with Rhode Island CTE standards RIDE requirements and industry practicesTeach foundational and advanced criminal justice concepts including law enforcement public safety and legal systemsIntegrate employability skills such as communication professionalism teamwork ethics and problem-solvingCreate and maintain a safe inclusive and engaging learning environment for high school studentsCollaborate with school administrators counselors and community and industry partnersSupport program development including curriculum design equipment planning and industry partnershipsSupervise students in a laboratory-based instructional environmentParticipate in required professional development and certification processesPerform other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned and are consistent with this position.
Minimum Required Qualifications:Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice or related field Three (3) years of successful experience in criminal justice law enforcement corrections public safety or a related fieldValid Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) CTE Certification or eligibility to obtain certification per RIDE requirements (district support provided)
Preferred Qualifications:Current or former law enforcement officerMasters Degree in Criminal Justice or related fieldProfessional experience in criminal justice law enforcement corrections public safety or a related fieldAbility to connect real-world professional experience to classroom instruction
