Rate of Pay: 14.27 - 18.64 per hour
Summary:
The HR Administrator will provide high-quality comprehensive administrative support to the Human Resources department at the London Borough of Hillingdon. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that HR processesranging from recruitment and onboarding to payroll data entry and compliance monitoringare executed accurately and efficiently. This role is central to maintaining data integrity within HR systems and ensuring that the Council remains compliant with all statutory employment regulations including Right to Work and Safeguarding (DBS) requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct and verify essential pre-employment checks including professional references DBS disclosures and Right to Work documentation.
- Manage physical and digital personnel files ensuring strict adherence to confidentiality and GDPR guidelines.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly payroll by compiling timesheets absence records and statutory pay data.
- Process HR-related forms and handle employee queries regarding pay benefits and deductions.
- Monitor and audit compliance reports specifically focusing on the expiration of Right to Work documents and DBS checks.
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary HR reports and documentation.
- Generate HR metrics and reports to support departmental decision-making.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of GCSEs (Grade C/4 or above) in English and Maths or equivalent. A Level 3 CIPD qualification is desirable but not essential.
- A basic understanding of UK employment law specifically regarding Right to Work and GDPR/Data Protection.
Essentials:
- Proven experience in a fast-paced administrative role preferably within an HR or local government environment.
- Experience handling sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Experience in data entry where a high level of accuracy and attention to detail is required.
