The Opportunity:
As a Metro Center Program Specialist for Washington State University (WSU) Extension you will provide organizational leadership for the National Urban Research & Extension Centers (NUREC) Knowledge and Practice Networks (KPNs). You will work as part of a team with the center director assistant director and faculty subject matter leads to oversee the implementation of the centers multiple KPNs each comprised of university faculty local government officials community leaders and agency personnel.
In this role you must exercise discretion analytical skill personal accountability and responsibility in a wide range of areas related to project implementation record keeping and reporting related to NURECs numerous educational and applied research activities. Additionally you will support administration and operations for center-wide initiatives including assisting with grant support and administration event coordination meeting logistics and program marketing.
Additional Information:
This is a part-time (50% FTE) position. This position is overtime eligible.
Temporary End Date: This is a temporary position expected to end 1 year from date of hire. Renewal is dependent on the need for extension and/or if additional funding is secured to extend employment.
Monthly Salary: $2434.70 - $2739.04 at 50% FTE ($4869.40 - $5478.07 at 100% FTE) Commensurate with experience and qualifications
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110 the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidates current experience education skills and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications:
A Bachelors degree in a field relevant to area of specialization and three (3) years of experience directly related to the specialty area. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Must have or be able to obtain by time of hire a valid drivers license and meet requirements underSPPM 7.10and departmental driving standards.
Ability to work a flexible yet structured schedule with occasional night and weekend shifts to meet the needs of program partners and grant requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated ability to communicate and interact effectively with persons of varying levels of responsibility and experience both orally and in writing.
Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel and Workday.
Knowledge of WSU Business Policies and Procedures in the areas of personnel finance and administration.
Experience in higher education local or state agency or equivalent.
