Foot Mobile Maintenance Engineer

Reporting to: Contract Supervisor Contract Administrator Contract Manager
Working closely with: Mobile Engineering Team

Purpose of the Role

As a Foot Mobile Maintenance Engineer you will be responsible for delivering both planned and reactive maintenance across client sites supporting the Contract Supervisor and wider management team.

The purpose of the role is to ensure the clients mechanical and electrical assets are maintained in a safe efficient and fully operational condition. Youll be well organised able to work to agreed timescales respond effectively to emergency situations and operate confidently both independently and as part of a mobile engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive works on mechanical and electrical systems

• Maintain plant equipment and associated components in good working order

• Review and monitor subcontractor performance during specialist service visits and repair works

• Complete simPRO instruction sets accurately including photographic evidence for completed tasks

• Maintain site logbooks and compliance records for electrical mechanical water systems and health & safety

• Escalate any issues relating to statutory planned maintenance to the Supervisor or Management team

• Maintain comfortable environmental conditions through effective operation of HVAC systems

• Respond to plant and equipment failures carrying out fault finding on mechanical and electrical systems

• Respond to BMS alarms and use the system for first-line diagnostics

• Identify and report potential hazards or safety concerns promptly

• Maintain full operational knowledge of all plant and services including:

  • Plant start-up and shutdown (normal and emergency)

  • Running checks and plant changeover

  • Fault finding and optimisation of plant run times

• Carry out regular housekeeping and site walk-rounds to ensure:

  • Plant rooms are clean and tidy

  • No health and safety risks are present

  • Plant is operating in line with building specifications

• Liaise professionally and courteously with clients end users and colleagues

• Complete maintenance repairs and small installation works as directed

• Maintain accurate documentation including test reports and service reports

• Keep Business Support and Supervisors informed of work progress and any delays

• Communicate the impact of maintenance or repair works prior to execution

• Share knowledge and skills to support safe and continuous site operations

• Immediately escalate any real or potential risks to personnel safety or critical plant reliability

• Isolate and make safe electrical and pressure systems confirming dead / de-pressurised where required

• Be flexible to support business needs including occasional evening weekend or public holiday working

• Undertake any other reasonable duties required under the contract

Knowledge Skills & Experience

Essential

• City & Guilds Level III (or equivalent) in Electrical discipline

• City & Guilds Level III (or equivalent) in Mechanical discipline

• 18th Edition I.E.E

• Strong understanding of Electricity at Work Regulations and safe working practices

• Proven experience in maintenance testing and fault finding across building services systems

Desirable

• City & Guilds BS 2391 Level 3 Electrical Inspection & Testing

• IOSH Working Safely

• PASMA and IPAF (1b / 3a / 3b)

• Unvented hot water systems training

• Experience with BMS generators controls lighting plumbing drainage LPHW pressurisation ventilation ACOP L8 and cooling tower systems

• High Voltage systems experience with valid certification
