Key Responsibilities Chef
As Sous Chef youll play a vital role in launching and supporting the leadership of a vibrant multi-outlet kitchen operation at one of the regions most exciting new destinations. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the Head Chef in delivering the culinary vision across the Farmshop Café Restaurant Barista Coffee Bar Playbarn Café Concessions and Events & Hospitality spaces
- Supervising and mentoring kitchen staff ensuring high standards of food quality safety and hygiene are maintained at all times
- Managing daily kitchen operations including food prep stock rotation allergen control and assisting with supplier coordination
- Working closely with front-of-house and events teams to ensure smooth service for school visits weddings seasonal events and private functions
- Maintaining consistency and efficiency across a logistically varied site ensuring timely and high-quality food delivery
- Upholding food safety and hygiene standards including compliance with HACCP procedures
- Contributing to menu development bringing creativity and seasonal inspiration to the table
- Driving continuous improvement offering ideas and feedback to enhance the food offering and kitchen operations
Qualifications :
What Were Looking For:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie in a high-volume quality-focused environment
- A strong background in wedding and event cateringyou know how to deliver under pressure and support seamless execution
- A track record of supporting training and motivating kitchen teams to maintain consistently high standards
- Financial awareness with experience in food cost control GP targets stock management and supplier coordination
- Excellent coaching and delegation skillsyou lead by example and support the Head Chef in developing the team
- Highly organised detail-oriented and calm under pressure especially during peak service
- An empathetic and effective communicator with a collaborative solution-focused mindset
- Strong menu execution planning and problem-solving abilities
- Able to work weekends and evenings as required by the operation
