Pastoral & Welfare Team:
The welfare team plays a vital role in the daily life of the school and works closely with safeguarding leads attendance officers SEN staff and external agencies. The team supports students facing social emotional or personal challenges and provides early intervention to remove barriers to learning.

The Welfare Officer will be a key point of contact for students and families offering day-to-day support guidance and signposting. The role involves managing welfare referrals supporting students in crisis liaising with parents and coordinating with outside professionals such as CAMHS social services and youth support organisations.

Requirements
Experience working with children or young people in a pastoral welfare or support role
Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to build trust with students and families
Calm empathetic and professional approach
Strong organisational skills and ability to maintain confidential records
