Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Housing Officer to specialise in Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB). The successful candidate will manage a high-volume caseload delivering effective early intervention and taking appropriate enforcement action. This role requires a strong understanding of both non-court and court remedies with a proactive approach to resolving tenancy-related issues and supporting safe sustainable communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a high caseload of ASB cases from initial report through to resolution
- Deliver early intervention strategies to prevent escalation of anti-social behaviour
- Investigate complaints thoroughly gathering evidence and maintaining accurate case records
- Work closely with residents internal teams and external partners (e.g. police local authorities)
- Apply a range of enforcement tools including warnings acceptable behaviour agreements and injunctions
- Prepare and present cases for legal action including court attendance where required
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation policies and procedures
- Provide support and guidance to victims and witnesses of ASB
- Monitor case progress and ensure timely resolution in line with service standards
- Contribute to community safety initiatives and tenancy sustainment strategies
Key Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in a Housing Officer or ASB-focused role
- Strong knowledge of anti-social behaviour legislation and housing law
- Experience managing complex and high-volume caseloads
- Ability to use both early intervention and enforcement approaches effectively
- Experience with legal processes including preparing court documentation and attending hearings
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
- Good IT skills and experience using housing management systems
- Relevant Housing qualification
