Position Summary

A healthcare facility in Seneca SC is seeking an experienced Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment. This role supports a high-acuity step-down unit caring for adult and geriatric patients requiring close monitoring following ICU-level care.

Unit Details

Unit Type: Progressive ICU / PCU
Bed Count: 10 beds
Patient Population: Adult and geriatric
Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:3
Common Diagnoses: Respiratory failure sepsis heart failure DKA/HHS alcohol withdrawal overdose and post-ICU transfers

Responsibilities

Provide high-quality nursing care to PCU/step-down patients
Monitor and manage patients requiring continuous cardiac and hemodynamic monitoring
Administer and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips
Care for ventilated patients and manage CPAP/BiPAP therapy
Perform IV therapy phlebotomy and manage arterial and central lines
Recognize and respond to dysrhythmias and medical emergencies
Maintain isolation precautions and infection control standards
Document all patient care accurately using the EPIC EMR system
Float to other units or campuses as needed within demonstrated competencies
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams

Required Qualifications

Active South Carolina RN license or multistate license (pending licenses not accepted)
Minimum 1 year of PCU or step-down experience
BLS ACLS and NIHSS certifications required
Minimum 1 year of EPIC charting experience
Strong critical thinking time-management and communication skills
