The Associate Employee Relations working under close supervision is responsible for supporting the administration of resolutions to employee relations issues such as investigations into conflicts disputes and disciplinary matters with fairness and consistency in a timely manner. The role supports the administration of company policies and procedures related to employee relations performance management and workplace conduct. The role also supports the maintenance of accurate and confidential employee records and data related to employee relations matters.
ResponsibilitiesThe primary responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
Strategic Business Partnership & Employee Experience
- Relationship Management: Build strong rapport with business partners to identify HR solutions and provide expert coaching on employee relations policies and strategies.
- Culture & Engagement: Drive a positive inclusive workplace culture by implementing proactive initiatives based on employee feedback surveys and open-door policies.
- Communication: Prepare and deliver clear HR communications regarding employment terms codes of conduct and organizational changes to maintain high morale and transparency.
Labor & Employee Relations
- Issue Resolution: Mediate and resolve complex employee issues conflicts and disciplinary matters with a focus on fairness consistency and timeliness.
- Labor Relations: Collaborate with stakeholders to interpret and administer collective agreements; actively participate in grievances arbitrations and the collective bargaining process.
- Investigations: Lead or support internal investigations and formulate responses to discrimination charges or workplace complaints in accordance with established procedures.
Compliance & Policy Administration
- Legal Compliance: Ensure all HR activities align with employment laws regulations (such as ESA and WSIB) and company best practices.
- Attendance & Disability Management: Oversee attendance tracking facilitate the employee accommodation process and manage return-to-work programs.
- Policy Governance: Maintain a compliance libraryand ensure the consistent application of company policies across all departments to minimize risk and turnover.
Talent Acquisition & Performance Management
- Full-Cycle Recruitment: Execute internal and external recruitment activities to meet staffing needs.
- Performance Support: Administer performance management systems including goal setting evaluations and the documentation of performance improvement plans.
- Personnel Changes: Manage the administrative processing of promotions transfers salary changes and terminations.
HR Operations & Analytics
QualificationsThe minimum requirements we seek:
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources Organizational Development or any other related discipline (Successful candidates will be required to provide proof of degree completion for the highest level of education attained. If the degree was obtained from a school outside of Canada an Education Credential Assessment report showing Canadian equivalency is also required.)
Our preferred requirements:
- Masters degree in human resources organizational development or any other related discipline
- Three (3) years of experience in a Human Resources
- Proficient in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office.
- CHRP/CHRL Professional Human Resources Certification.
- Experience working in a manufacturing plant.
- Experience conducting investigations.
- Demonstrated ability to work as a team.
- Demonstrated conflict management skills.
- Proven interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to effectively engage with all employees in the organization.
- Proven problem-solving skills using analytics.
- Excellent analytical problem solving and organization skills.

- The expected annual salary range for this position is $63000 - $107000 and individuals may be eligible to participate in our Annual Compensation bonus program.
