| REQUIRED SKILLS | Overview Client is seeking a Core Engineering organization is driving the firms multi year cloud transformation as part of a CIO mandated initiative to exit all datacenters by 2030. Under the AWS funded MAP program client is expanding its senior cloud leadership to accelerate platform adoption across dozens of internal business units. We are seeking a highly senior deeply technical AWS Program Manager / Project Lead able to operate with executive visibility run complex multi team cloud engineering initiatives and drive delivery with zero hand holding. Responsibilities - Serve as the primary delivery lead for a 4 person AWS engineering pod building core cloud platform capabilities for client.
- Partner directly with Core Engineering leaders architects and security to define technical scope milestones backlogs and workstream alignment.
- Drive end to end execution of MAP-funded cloud modernization including planning prioritization daily standups risk/issue management and stakeholder reporting.
- Coordinate intake and alignment across multiple consuming business units ensuring deliverables meet the multiplier adoption goals required by AWS.
- Translate business and compliance needs into technical execution plans engineering tasks security controls and platform patterns.
- Ensure engineering outputs meet bank grade standards for security auditability and regulatory compliance.
- Manage stakeholder communication between AWS client Core Engineering and downstream teams.
- Oversee SOW deliverables validate progress and ensure the team hits timelines tied to AWS funding.
- Provide hands-on architectural and engineering guidance when needed (not a pure PM role).
- Operate autonomously with minimal oversight making decisions quickly and escalating only when required.
Required Experience - 15 years in IT engineering cloud program leadership or technical program management.
- Deep expertise in AWS architecture including IAM VPC EC2 S3 KMS Secrets Manager CloudTrail/GuardDuty and multi account governance.
- Proven experience delivering cloud platform capabilities used across multiple engineering teams.
- Strong understanding of IaC (CDK preferred) Terraform CI/CD and secure cloud automation.
- Demonstrated ability to lead highly senior engineers and operate in a fast moving ambiguous environment.
- Experience running initiatives with strict regulatory security or audit requirements (finance or DoD ideal).
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills; comfortable working with CTO level leadership.
Ideal Experience / Nice-to-Haves - Experience with AWS CDK reusable cloud constructs platform blueprints or multi-team enablement.
- AI/ML platform experience (SageMaker inference endpoints MLOps).
- Prior work inside highly regulated environments (banking trading DoD healthcare).
- Hands-on engineering background (architect SRE DevOps lead).
