Key Responsibilities:

As a Associate Solution Architect at KBR you will play a critical role in driving technical strategy and solution development to support business growth across diverse mission areas including Defense Intelligence Civilian Space and Homeland Security. This position requires a strategic thinker with deep technical expertise and the ability to craft innovative customer-focused solutions tailored to unique mission requirements.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and subject matter experts to:

  • Lead technical solution development for complex problems across the Mission Technology Solutions portfolio.
  • Shape customer requirements through early engagement market research and identification of competitive discriminators.
  • Develop proposal content including technical volumes whitepapers and Basis of Estimates (BOEs) and respond to RFIs and market surveys.
  • Apply advanced methodologies such as Digital Engineering Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) DevSecOps Agile development Cloud architectures and Data Analytics using AI/ML with a strong emphasis on System of Systems integration.
  • Strong interpersonal skills working across multi-disciplinary teams to capture and develop new and innovative solutions to a wide range of complex problems.

Security clearance requirements vary by position. While some opportunities may require an active Top-Secret clearance with eligibility for TS/SCI due to the nature of the work others do not. Candidates without clearance are encouraged to apply as we have roles that do not require this level of access. Clearance eligibility may be considered a differentiator for certain programs.

  • Location: Chantilly VA; Dayton OH; Colorado Springs CO Los Angeles CA; Valley Forge PA Huntsville AL; Remote-US
  • Travel Requirements: Minimal 0-20%

Required Qualifications:

  • Education & Experience
    • Bachelors degree in a technical discipline (Engineering Computer Science or related field); advanced degree preferred.
    • Minimum 5-8 years of industry experience in solution architecting or directly supporting operational programs to delivery capability to customers. Preferred experience in an operational leadership role such as a Team Lead or Integrated Product Team (IPT) lead.
  • Technical Expertise
    • Proven experience in one or more mission areas: Defense Intelligence Civilian Space or Homeland Security.
    • Strong background in System of Systems integration architectures and infrastructure.
    • Familiarity with advanced methodologies such as:
      • Digital Engineering
      • Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
      • DevSecOps
      • Agile development (software or hardware)
      • Cloud architectures
      • Data Analytics AI/ML methodologies
      • Cybersecurity
  • Business Development & Proposal Skills
    • Demonstrated ability to create lead or deliver technical solution development for complex problems for proposal volumes or operational programs.
    • Experience writing technical solutions whitepapers and developing Basis of Estimates (BOEs) as part of a proposal.
    • Ability to respond to RFIs market surveys and support customer shaping efforts.
  • Leadership & Communication
    • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to mentor teams foster collaboration and engage stakeholders.
    • Strong communication and presentation skills for interfacing with customers and internal leadership.
    • Ability to work across multi-disciplinary teams foster collaboration and engage stakeholders.
    • Demonstrate effective use multiple communication methods to work across geographically dispersed teams collaborating on shared artifacts.
  • Security Clearance

Basic Compensation:

  • $96400.00 - 144600.00 (this rate is for the Colorado area only)
  • $105600.00 - 158400.00 (this rate is for the California area only)

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidates knowledge skills abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.

Additional Compensation:

KBR may offer bonuses commissions or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus relocation benefits short term incentives long term incentives or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
