Job Summary
The Applications Engineer provides technical support to customers in the Energy market for Fiber Optic Cables (primarily ADSS and OPGW) which includes creating application notes instruction manuals and conducting training. Application Engineers act as the voice of the customer for the form fit and function of AFL products.
Responsibilities
- Provide pre - and post - technical support to sales customer service representatives and customers. Including but not limited to:
- Field training
- Customer visits
- Industry standard participation
- Conducts product training both internally for company associates and externally for customers sales agents and representatives
- Creates documents for new product introductions installation instructions applications notes and product specific guidelines
- Interact with manufacturing sales and research teams to develop and market new products to support product launch for at least the first six months.
- Lead technical RFx response efforts
- Remain up to date and knowledgeable on the most current competitor product offering and technology.
- Adhere to and promote the environments health and safety policies of AFL
- Must successfully complete pre-employment assessments background & reference checks
- Other assignments as identified.

- Self-starter with integrity and confidence who strives to achieve under all circumstances
- Ability to work well with limited supervision
- Well-developed personal skills comfortable in a cross-cultural environment
- Effective time management and organizational skills
