About the Role

The Quality Technician is responsible for providing the Quality Department technical support such as performing quality tasks and documentation. This person will be a resource for the Quality Department.


What youll Do

The primary duties and responsibilities of the Quality Technician consist of but are not limited to:

  • Generate bubble prints inspection plans and other quality documents for new and existing products.
  • Utilize precision measuring instruments and equipment to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Assist in development of new inspection methods processes and training.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of inspection and test results per customer requirements.
  • Prepare quality reports non-conformance reports (NCRs) and corrective action requests (CARs).
  • Ensure proper documentation and traceability in accordance with AS9100 and ISO 13485 standards.
  • Monitor and enforce quality control processes and procedures.
  • Assist in root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Support internal and external audits including preparing necessary documentation and facilitating audit processes.
  • Work closely with engineering production and supply chain teams to address quality issues.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and management regarding quality performance and improvement initiatives.
  • Provide training and guidance to production staff on quality standards and procedures.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects aimed at enhancing product quality and process efficiency.
  • Contribute to the development and revision of quality documentation including standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.


Requirements

Education and Experience


  • 2 year degree or work experience in place of education requirement.
  • 1 year of experience in relevant manufacturing/quality support role.
  • Proficiency in the use of precision measuring tools such as calipers micrometers and CMMs.
  • ASQ certification (e.g. CQI CQT) is desirable but not required.

Skill and Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of quality control principles statistical process control (SPC) and root cause analysis techniques.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with quality management software and ERP systems (Epicor or other) is preferred.
  • Proficient in various computer software applications such as Microsoft Word Excel and Outlook.
