Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform quality assurance inspections of construction activities to verify compliance with contract plans specifications and applicable federal standards.
- Monitor contractor performance and identify deficiencies nonconforming work and potential quality issues.
- Prepare daily inspection reports field documentation and photographic records.
- Coordinate with government representatives contractors and project stakeholders.
- Review contractor submittals testing results and construction documentation.
- Assist in resolving field construction issues and ensure compliance with contract requirements.
Design and Technical Oversight:
- Review construction drawings specifications and technical submittals.
- Verify materials installation methods and workmanship meet project requirements.
- Identify potential engineering issues and communicate findings to project leadership.
- Support technical evaluations of construction methods and implementation.
Construction and Quality Assurance:
- Conduct field inspections of civil works construction including earthwork concrete structural components utilities and infrastructure systems.
- Verify materials testing and inspection procedures meet contract specifications.
- Monitor contractor quality control programs and compliance with approved QC plans.
- Maintain detailed quality assurance records and documentation.
Project and Field Support:
- Provide on-site technical support to the Government Resident Office.
- Participate in project coordination meetings and construction progress reviews.
- Support project documentation reporting and compliance requirements.
- Maintain communication with project engineers and government representatives.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering Construction Management Engineering Technology or related technical discipline preferred.
- Minimum five (5) years of construction inspection or quality assurance experience.
- Experience interpreting construction plans drawings and technical specifications.
- Strong documentation and reporting skills.
- Ability to work in field environments and travel to project sites.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) projects.
- Familiarity with RMS (Resident Management System).
- Experience in civil works flood control reservoirs water resources or military construction.
- Certifications such as Construction Quality Management (CQM) NICET OSHA 30 or equivalent.
