JOB- Mechanical DesignEngineering Manager

LOCATION- Liverpool

TERM- Permanent

SALARYper annum (dependent on experience)

My client is a specialist manufacturer within the Instrumentation sector. They are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineering Manager to join their team in Liverpool on a permanent basis.

The Product Engineering Manager will ideally have the following attributes:

BSc / BEng in Mechanical Engineering or similar
5 or more years of industry experience working in similar Mechanical Engineering Manager/Management role
Proven ability to take products from conceptual design to being sold commercially
Experienced setting up and implementing new ERP systems
Experienced managing teams
Ideally be experienced leading development for components from concept to production
Proficiency with CAD software ideally SolidWorks or similar
Ability to drive Engineering development
Good mathematical and general engineering knowledge
Excellent knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials sheet metal castings machining etc.
Good knowledge of process equipment and ancillary equipment
The ability to understand system requirements
Be self-motivated with excellent attention to detail
Have excellent communication skills both verbal and written

The Product Engineering Manager role will involve:

Managing a team working on the companys product range
Being involved with Engineering/Design as well as overseeing New Product Development and Introduction processes
Taking things from concept to launch
Helping to develop existing products on a technical level
Liaising with customers as required keeping them up to date with project progress
Producing technical drawings as needed
Driving continuous improvement
Offering technical support
Sourcing and selecting components that are required
