This contract position offers an exceptional opportunity to work in a fast-paced medical practice environment providing vital care to newborns and their families.
As a Locum Neonatologist you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality medical care to our youngest patients. You will be responsible for managing neonatal intensive care units collaborating with a team of healthcare professionals and ensuring the best possible outcomes for infants.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive care to neonates in a clinical setting
- Conduct assessments and develop treatment plans for patients
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient care
- Monitor and manage critically ill newborns in the NICU
- Communicate effectively with families regarding treatment and progress
- Stay current with the latest advancements in neonatology
- Document patient care accurately and timely in electronic health records
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the department
Requirements
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Board certification or eligibility in Neonatology
- Active medical license in the state of practice
- Strong clinical skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare teams
- Commitment to patient-centered care and evidence-based practice
- Experience in a neonatal intensive care setting is preferred
Schedule: 7a-4p overnight call
30-bed Level II NICU
Annual Admissions: 500 patients
Daily Volume: 18.5 patients
Patient Population: 65% Level II acuity 35% Level III acuity < 10 % Level IV acuity
Bread & butter neonatal procedures are required
EMR: Epic
Must be board-certified
Paid travel & expenses
