Founded in 2006 One Acre Fund equips 5.5 million smallholder farmers to make their farms more productive. Across nine countries that together are home to two-thirds of Africas farmers we provide high-quality farm supplies tree seedlings accessible credit modern agronomic training and a wide range of other agricultural services. On average this model enables any farmer to increase their income and assets on supported land by more than 35 percent while permanently improving their resilience. The Nigeria program established in 2018 is headquartered in Minna Niger state. Were currently serving over 300000 unique farmers across the state via our inputs on credit Core program inputs on cash Retail program and have a free tree seedling distribution Agroforestry program. About the Role:

The Communications Officer will help One Acre Fund Nigeria grow its visibility and engagement through compelling visuals videos social media content and an engaging monthly internal newsletter. The role requires a strong eye for design comfort with digital platforms and the ability to translate farmer stories and program impact into creative multimedia formats that resonate with both external and internal audiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Social Media Management

    • Manage One Acre Fund Nigerias social media platforms (Facebook Instagram Twitter/X WhatsApp).

    • Draft schedule and post engaging content that highlights farmer impact and program activities.

    • Track analytics to inform future campaigns and engagement strategies.

  • Multimedia Content Creation

    • Capture and edit photos and videos of farmer stories field activities and events.

    • Design graphics infographics and short-form video clips for digital use.

    • Support production of branded materials (flyers posters social cards etc.).

  • Storytelling & Documentation

    • Collaborate with field teams to source farmer success stories and testimonials.

    • Package stories into multimedia formats (photo essays video shorts social reels).

    • Maintain an organized library of photos videos and design assets.

  • Internal Newsletter

    • Assist in the production of the monthly Nigeria internal newsletter.

    • Gather updates photos and stories from different teams.

    • Draft design and circulate the newsletter in an engaging visually appealing format.

  • Brand & Campaign Support

    • Ensure consistency with One Acre Funds brand and style guidelines.

    • Support national and global campaigns with creative inputs and assets.

Assist in live coverage of events training and community engagements.

Work Schedule:

This role is fully onsite on a full-time basis and the successful candidate may be assigned as required by the manager based on operational needs.


Qualifications

Across all roles these are the general qualifications we look for.


For this role specifically you will have:

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Mass Communication Journalism or related field.

  • 2- 3 years of experience in multimedia content creation social media management or internal communications (internships count).

  • Strong skills in photography videography and editing (using tools like Adobe Premiere Pro Photoshop Lightroom or Canva).

  • Familiarity with social media management tools (e.g. Hoot suite Buffer Meta Business Suite).

  • Strong writing ability to craft captions stories and newsletter content.

  • Organized and proactive able to handle multiple projects on tight timelines.

  • Fluency in English; Hausa or other local language skills are a plus.

  • In line with the job level.

  • One Acre Fund provides employees with a percentage of their basic salaries for housing allowance and child support.

  • Retirement savings: OAF contributes 10% and you contribute 8% of your basic salary to your retirement savings account.

  • One Acre Fund also provides monthly reimbursements to cover work-related costs for transport and airtime.

  • Relocation support is not available for this position.
