The R&D Engineer Filtration Technology and Device Design is responsible for conducting research and engages in New Product Development (NPD) of advanced filtration projects. You are expected to drive innovation cross functionally to deliver differentiated product performance with custom solutions engage with Energy Business Unit to ensure technical and strategy alignment.
This position reports to the Director R&D Filtration Technology & Device Design and is part of the Filtration Technology and Device Design team located in Cortland New York and will be an on-site role.
In this role you will have the opportunity to:
Apply technical background (from Chemical/Mechanical/Materials Engineering) especially related to micro/macro fluid-flow strength of materials and structural-mechanical design for design of liquid and gas filtration technologies.
Design Analyze and Engineer new products (with differentiated performance improvements) with the use of standard tools state-of-the-art engineering software design calculations and best-known methods for product designs
Strive to be a subject matter expert (SME) in design to model to prototype to testing to analysis for targeted application; and mentor fresh grads/new talent to adopt the invention (of your subject matter expertise)
Lead innovation and develop new technologies build new ideas that enable New Product Development; contributes to Palls valuable IP (Intellectual Property)
Establish design modelling and analysis techniques that serve as a foundation for the rest of the organization to implement across all projects
The essential requirements of the job include:
Minimum bachelors degree in mechanical chemical or other engineering discipline or material science
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in R&D/product development and/or design engineering
Knowledge of polymer materials and mechanism of mass-transport during filtration process is valuable
Preferred Qualifications:
Technical background related to filtration technology for liquid/gas separation and purification
Technical skills in macro- and micro-fluid flow structural mechanics design to engineering finite element methods and/or process modelling is desirable
Experience in dynamic flow testing and analysis is highly preferred
Experience/Technical background in system design for filtration technology is highly preferred
Travel Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements: if applicable for role
Requires 5-10% travel both nationally and internationally

The annual salary range for this role is $75000 - $85000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
We offer comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.
