The Technical Support Officer will be responsible for the provision of a range of technical support services in relation to school and Project based network systems.
RESPONSIBLE TO:
The Technical Support Officer will be responsible to the C2k (EdIS) Technical Manager initially and then will be responsible to the Systems Analysts.
BACKGROUND:
The Northern Ireland C2k (EdIS) Service represents one of the largest and most comprehensive Information and Communications Technology (ICT) services emanating from the education sector within the United Kingdom.
The C2k (EdIS) Service ensures the design development installation and operation of an ICT infrastructure delivered through an integrated internal service in order to meet the curricular administrative and management information needs of educational and other establishments within the responsibility of the Education Service in Northern Ireland.
The scope of the C2k (EdIS) Service includes system configuration and integration software development maintenance and support of the infrastructure together with other relevant and related services. These services are required to facilitate the ongoing development and delivery of the Northern Ireland Educational Technology Strategy.
In order that these services are managed and delivered effectively on time and to defined quality standards there is a requirement to appoint Technical Support Officers.
KEY PURPOSE:
The post holder will provide under the direction of line management a range of technical support services to support the ongoing technical feasibility and acceptability of a range of C2k (EdIS) services.
The postholder will assist with the provision of technical support in relation to system configuration elements of the C2k (EdIS) Service as directed by line management.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
