Dow has an opportunity as Accounting Specialist based in São Paulo SP.

About you and this role - What you would do in this role

This position plays a key role in ensuring the overall accuracy and integrity of the financial statements and supports the management and the Entity Accounting Leader in Financial and Statutory Accounting.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all accounting activities recorded in company books are accurate complete and compliant with GAAP and IFRS standards.

• Participate in core accounting functions including:

• General ledger maintenance

• Financial scorecard review

• US GAAP to local statutory conversion

• Reconciliations and compliance with operational policies

• Prepare financial statement footnotes and supporting schedules.

• Assist with monthly quarterly and annual accounting close processes.

• Implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure proper execution of transactions.

• Perform fluctuation analysis and financial statement analytics providing meaningful explanations to senior management.

• Document and implement internal controls as required by SOX.

• Participate in process improvement and streamlining initiatives.

• Lead annual financial audits and quarterly reviews with external auditors including preparation and review of schedules.

• Coordinate closely with other finance teams to ensure complete and accurate accruals.

• Support leadership with accounting analysis and unusual transactions.

• Lead accounting projects including M&A activities.

• Contribute to budgeting cost analysis and financial estimates.

• Perform product costing inventory reviews and fixed asset reviews.

• Educate internal partners on accounting policies and internal controls resolving issues as they arise.

Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in Accounting.

• Advanced English and Spanish (preferred).

• Strong knowledge of GAAP IFRS and local accounting standards (Argentinean GAAP) and applicable accounting rules and regulations;

• Experience with SAP.

• 3 years of relevant experience preferably in the manufacturing industry.

• Proven ability to prepare and review journal entries and account reconciliations.

• Knowledge of FASB SEC requirements SOX compliance and best accounting practices.
