Amazon Japan Fulfillment Center (hereinafter FC) Outbound Central Flow Operations Team (hereinafter CFOps) is recruiting a Project Manager.
About CFOps
Amazon has over 27 FCs nationwide 13 of which have implemented Amazon Robotics (hereinafter AR). CFOps serves as the central command tower for the shipping process at these 13 AR-enabled FCs with the role of building the worlds most stable operations and creating and constructing processes to provide stable services to customers.
About the Recruiting Position
This position involves taking ownership to lead the standardization and simplification of operation management methods across FCs as well as the creation and improvement of new mechanisms. It is an important role to drive continuous improvement of shipping operations without being satisfied with the current status. You will also be involved in the test operation and deployment of the latest global Amazon technologies. Furthermore there are now opportunities to deploy Japan-developed technologies globally.
Additionally you will be responsible for managing and developing the CFOps team members to maximize their individual performance. By gathering team members feedback and working together to solve problems you will improve the engagement and make CFOps an even stronger team.

Key job responsibilities
Specific Job Responsibilities and Allocation
Building and Improving Operation Processes/Mechanisms (60%)
Instead of having different management methods across FCs we will control operations using standardized methods as much as possible to eliminate variations in operations between FCs. Furthermore we will simplify complex management and build mechanisms that ensure consistent quality regardless of who is performing the work continuously improving to establish stable this process it is essential to have the motivation to always think how can we make this possible rather than this cannot be done and to keep moving forward.
Additionally you will be involved in creating standard operation manuals and documents as well as deploying them to all FCs to establish the ideal state of operations. You will have an influential role in setting the standards and deploying them nationwide.
People Management and Development (40%)
This position is an IC role. However to support organizational growth you will manage and develop personnel for the CFOps Area Manager and Process Assistant (PA) roles and conduct relative evaluations. Through task assignments you will support them in maximizing their strengths providing growth opportunities and driving their performance. You will also hold regular meetings to closely listen to the team members concerns and work together to resolve individual issues.
Beyond your direct reports you will provide support in daily operations to the entire team improving team engagement and motivation and lead the creation of stable operations to contribute to customer satisfaction.
Work Style
This position follows a calendar shift schedule (weekends and holidays off no night shifts).
