The Senior Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for leading the development qualification and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes for high-reliability aerospace PCB assemblies. This role supports multiple concurrent programs and partners closely with Program Management Design Engineering Quality Supply Chain and Operations to ensure repeatable compliant and efficient production.
The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise in PCB assembly soldering and inspection processes along with a strong program awareness and the ability to operate and communicate as a subject-matter expert across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development implementation and sustainment of manufacturing processes for space- and flight-grade electronic assemblies.
- Serve as the Manufacturing Engineering lead for assigned programs supporting cross-functional teams throughout the product lifecycle.
- Perform Design for Manufacturability (DFM) reviews on new designs and provide actionable feedback to design engineering.
- Conduct both internal and customer facing Manufacturing Readiness Reviews (MRRs) and support transition from development to production.
- Perform root cause analysis and corrective actions on manufacturing issues.
- Disposition nonconformances in accordance with IPC customer and aerospace quality requirements.
- Develop review and maintain process documentation work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for multiple manufacturing systems and processes on the production floor.
- Design and execute Design of Experiments (DOE) to qualify new equipment materials or processes for production use.
- Monitor and report key manufacturing metrics (yield defect rates cycle time) to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to support tooling equipment and process capability needs.
- Provide off-hour support during critical program builds and occasionally support extended work hours or weekends to meet program schedules.
- Support limited travel to customer sites suppliers or training events as required.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Engineering or related discipline.
- 7 years of experience in aerospace or high-reliability electronics manufacturing.
- Demonstrated expertise in PCB assembly and soldering processes for IPC Class 3 / 3A hardware.
- Extensive hands-on or technical knowledge of manufacturing equipment including but not limited to:
- Pick-and-place
- Reflow oven
- Stencil printer
- Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) system
- X-ray
- Selective or wave solder
- Hot-air rework equipment
- Conformal coating system
- Lead forming
- Aqueous cleaning system
- Strong experience performing PCB CAD reviews and DFM analysis for high-reliability applications.
- Proficiency in using and navigating ERP systems and Microsoft Office.
- Proven ability to work across multiple programs and functional groups balancing technical depth with schedule and quality demands.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across engineering quality and operations teams.

Compensation: Base salary range is $90000- $140000 depending on qualifications.
