The New York City Comptrollers Office works to promote the financial health integrity and effectiveness of New York City government in order to strengthen trust secure a thriving future for all New Yorkers and build a more just equitable and resilient city. The Bureau of Administration is committed to delivering strategic support services to strengthen and empower Office of the New York City Comptroller employees as they work toward ensuring the Citys fiscal health. We provide service and support in a manner that promotes communication transparency and collaboration. These services include Human Resources Procurement Payment Facilities Management and Budget Management.
The intern will gain hands-on technical experience through task specific office work and a mentoring relationship with senior-level technical staff. The internship will familiarize the intern with the City Procurement process and focus on Fiscal Year Close-Out Readiness & Execution.
Responsibilities of the Contract Management (Procurement Unit) Intern include but are not limited to:
-Examine fiscal year close out within procurement focusing on how purchasing timelines contract negotiations and encumbrances intersect with City fiscal deadlines
-Learn how procurement decisions made throughout the year directly affect fiscal integrity vendor relations and year end outcomes
-Identify key deadlines and procurement cut offs
-Understand roles across procurement accounts payable and budget
-Review common year end bottlenecks
-Perform other duties and assignments as may be required
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT: Matriculation at an accredited college. Employment is conditioned upon continuance as a student in college. Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited undergraduate degree program for the Fall 2026 semester.

- Our office is located at the David Dinkins Municipal Building 1 Centre Manhattan/New York.

As of June of the Program year the prospective intern must be a student matriculated in a college or be a recent college graduate (winter/spring term of the Program year).
