PV APAC and ANZ Analytics teams primary mission is to deliver actionable insights and analytical products/predictive models that empower the Prime Video (PV) organization to make fast data-driven decisions across all key functions. We strive to understand and surface customer behaviors and preferences by leveraging advanced analytics & statistical methods and help PV become The Global Entertainment Destination. Our scope is measuring and improving the holistic PV customer experience spanning from Marketing (Acquisition Engagement Content marketing) Product Finance Content Acquisition & Studio teams. We support the SVOD TVOD and Channels businesses across all functions- Content Business Marketing & Finance with a focus on improving customer acquisition retention & activation across all business and help optimize & inform PVs content & marketing investments.
We own the data infrastructure standardized reporting self-service tools deep-dives predictive models segmentation and targeting optimization that help PV drive incremental high-value customer actions efficiently. We manage all this with a team of mixed skill sets across Data Engineering Data Reporting Analytics & Data Sciences.
We own analytics charter for all functions within India South-East Asia ANZ and Japan with a mindset to build region-First but WW scalable products. Within this organization the Sr. Data Scientist develops analytics solutions and data-driven products that influence operations program product content product and technical strategy specifically across the Prime Video India organization.
This team leverages analytics engineering and data product management expertise to uncover business insights at scale ship impactful data products and innovate on behalf of customers to achieve business goals. They build new metrics and reporting by innovating infrastructure. They create and maintain business production metrics simplify and formalize data flows and create transparency/baselines for all business metrics. Finally this team drives complex analytics projects that enable business self-service and develops infrastructure that empowers teams to make decisions independently supported by SLAs alongside SOPs for data quality.
Key job responsibilities
Support the Content and business team on business reporting ad hoc analysis statistical inference and predictive modelling for all Prime Video APAC and ANZ.
Mine and analyze data pertaining to customers viewing experiences to identify critical business insight and make recommendations to optimize content selection.
Proactively develop new ML models using streaming video audio and textual data to understand and predict customer streaming behaviour
Translate analytic insights into concrete actionable recommendations for business or product improvement. Develop and present these as papers to senior stakeholders.
Liaise with your peers in other prime video territories to develop solutions that greatly benefit our global customers
This role will be based in Mumbai India
- 8 years of data scientist or similar role involving data extraction analysis statistical modeling and communication experience
- Masters degree in Math Statistics Computer Science or related science field or experience developing experimental and analytic plans for data modeling processes use of strong baselines ability to accurately determine cause and effect relations
- Knowledge of methods for statistical inference (e.g. regression experimental design significance testing)
- 8 years of data visualization and reports tools experience
- 10 years of hands-on work in predictive modeling and analysis experience
- Experience in written and oral communication including the ability to communicate with all levels in the organization (technical business executive)
- Experience presenting complex ideas in writing in the form of authoring white papers proposals or other formal strategy documents
