Our client is a leading Southern African vehicle rental provider specialising in 4x4 and SUV rentals for self-drive holidays and overland safaris. With a strong footprint across Southern Africa they are known for delivering high-quality adventure travel experiences to an international market.

About the Role
Our client is seeking an entrepreneurial sales-driven leader to head up and scale their travel business. This role goes beyond traditional travel consulting and is focused on driving growth increasing conversion and maximising revenue across the travel and vehicle rental offering.

The successful candidate will take ownership of sales strategy team leadership performance targets and commercial initiatives. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment thinks creatively and knows how to turn opportunity into results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow the travel and sales function driving performance and accountability

  • Develop and execute strategies to increase bookings and conversion rates

  • Set sales targets monitor performance and motivate the team to achieve results

  • Identify opportunities to maximise vehicle utilisation and revenue during quieter periods

  • Drive sales-focused initiatives promotions and partnerships to boost demand

  • Oversee customer journey from enquiry through to booking and after-sales support

  • Work closely with operations and fleet teams to align availability with demand

  • Analyse sales data and trends to inform decisions and optimise performance

  • Continuously improve processes systems and the overall sales approach

Minimum Requirements

  • Proven experience in a senior travel sales or commercial leadership role

  • Strong background in sales business development or revenue growth

  • Experience leading motivating and driving performance within a team

  • Commercially minded with the ability to spot opportunities and act decisively

  • Technically minded with confidence using systems data and reporting tools

  • Strong understanding of the travel or tourism industry (self-drive or adventure travel highly advantageous)

  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a get it done approach
