Position Title:District Program Coordinator

Reports To: Assistant Director of Child Care Enrichment

Supervises: Little Trojans Academy Staff

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelors degree including six hours of child development coursework preferred or:
    1. Child Development Associate Degree
    2. Certificate of Mastery
    3. Completed thirty college hours which includes fifteen hours of child development coursework
  2. Leadership experience in child care enrichment and/or school-age care.
  3. Must meet all state licensing requirements.
  4. Effective communication skills with students families and staff.
  5. Ability to manage staff members.
  6. Ability to work flexible hours including some evenings.
  7. Satisfy all district requirements with regards to physical health and citizenship.
  8. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Position Goals: To oversee the operation of the Little Trojan Academy including supervising and training staff members developing and implementing curriculum and providing a safe and positive environment for children to play learn and reach their full potential.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  1. Serves as coordinator and supervisor of the Little Trojan Academy.
  2. Ensures a safe secure and positive work environment.
  3. Prioritizes tasks and makes daily decisions in the best interest of the site students parents and staff.
  4. Supervises staff creates daily schedules and approves time clock submissions and leave requests.
  5. Oversees all site Department of Human Services (DHS) guidelines and regulations.
  6. Participates in interviewing and hiring classified staff personnel.
  7. Collaborates with the site coordinator and child care specialists on enrollment attendance check-in and check-out procedures tuition payments and tribal and DHS subsidy payments.
  8. Works with assistant director of child care enrichment site coordinator and child care specialists to continually improve programs curriculum and staff development.
  9. Accomplishes site objectives by researching and identifying trends and options choosing directions developing policies and procedures and evaluating outcomes.
  10. Provides guidance and help for student behavior and learning challenges.
  11. Oversees and coordinates parent meetings events and communication.
  12. Conducts tours with potential customers.
  13. Oversees site budget including accounts receivables and payables.
  14. Supervises inventory and approves requisition of supplies as needed.
  15. Collaborates with the kitchen manager on day-to-day kitchen operations including budget nutrition menus requirements and processes.
  16. Conducts monthly staff meetings and in-service staff training regarding the best teaching and learning practices while meeting DHS requirements.
  17. Oversees staff evaluations and implementation of appropriate professional development.
  18. Attends workshops and conferences in accordance with licensing standards and requirements per licensed year.
  19. Informs assistant director of child care enrichment of problems with the facility or among staff.
  20. Monitors building during fire and disaster drills.
  21. Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Employment Terms:Twelve (12) month classified annual contract

FLSA Qualification:Exempt

Occasional Requirements: Reach with hands and arms overhead above shoulder and horizontally; lift/move up to 40 pounds.

Visual Requirements: Close color peripheral depth perception ability to adjust focus.

Hearing/Speaking Requirements: Adequate to exchange information.
