A progressive and inclusive primary school in West Kensington is seeking an experienced and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils in Upper Key Stage 2 with a particular focus on children with autism anxiety-related needs executive functioning difficulties and transition challenges.
This role is designed for an SEN professional who understands that as pupils approach the later stages of primary education their needs can become more complex. Many pupils at this stage require support not only with academic access but also with emotional regulation organisation social interaction and preparation for secondary transition.
You will play a key role in helping pupils develop independence resilience and confidence while ensuring they continue to feel supported and understood within the school environment.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant in Upper KS2 your responsibilities will include:
Providing 1:1 SEN support for pupils with autism and additional needs
Supporting pupils in line with EHCP outcomes and individual support plans
Helping pupils develop organisation focus and self-regulation skills
Supporting access to the KS2 curriculum through adapted tasks and scaffolding
Assisting pupils with managing anxiety particularly around assessments and transitions
Supporting social interaction and peer relationships
Encouraging independence while providing structured guidance
Supporting pupils during unstructured times including breaks and transitions
Working closely with class teachers to ensure inclusive lesson delivery
Supporting preparation for secondary school transition including routines and expectations
Observing and recording progress to inform SEN planning and reviews
Maintaining high standards of safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
This role requires patience consistency and a strong understanding of the social and emotional challenges faced by older primary pupils with SEN.

Experience supporting pupils during key transitions is highly desirable.
Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant
Strong understanding of autism and KS2 SEN needs
Commitment to safeguarding and child protection
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
Availability for full-time long-term work
