A highly inclusive primary school in Shepherds Bush is seeking an experienced and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide support for pupils with complex needs including autism global developmental delay sensory processing difficulties and multiple learning challenges.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant supporting complex needs your responsibilities will include:
Delivering 1:1 and small group support for pupils with complex needs
Implementing individualised programmes in line with EHCP outcomes
Supporting pupils with autism sensory processing difficulties and developmental delays
Using multi-sensory teaching strategies to support engagement and understanding
Supporting emotional regulation and self-management strategies
Assisting with daily routines transitions and classroom organisation
Encouraging social interaction and communication through structured activities
Supporting pupils during unstructured times including play and lunch
Working closely with teachers and therapists to apply recommended strategies consistently
Observing recording and reporting pupil progress
Maintaining high standards of safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
This role requires a patient creative and highly organised approach to support pupils who may present complex learning communication or behavioural challenges.
The school is seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant who:
Has experience supporting pupils with complex needs
Understands sensory processing autism and multi-sensory learning approaches
Can implement individualised programmes consistently and sensitively
Is calm patient and adaptable
Builds trusting relationships with pupils who have high support needs
Works collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team
Is reliable committed and enthusiastic about long-term SEN work
Experience working with multi-sensory learning tools sensory breaks and therapy-based interventions is highly desirable.
Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant or similar role
Knowledge of complex SEN sensory processing difficulties and autism
Commitment to safeguarding and child protection
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
Availability for full-time long-term work
