A vacancy has arisen for a Corporal (Any Profession) to serve as JNCO Virtual AFCO 1 at RAFC Cranwell on Full Time Reserve Service (Limited Commitment) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS) with an initial proposed start date of 01 July 2026 (or earlier/later subject to candidate status).
RAF R&S Mission is to attract and select for training the diversity quantity and quality of people necessary to sustain RAF operational capability. JNCO Virtual AFCO 1 will work within HQ R&S Reserves Recruiting Team to support Royal Auxiliary Air Force (RAuxAF) Sqns and Reserve Support Wings (RSWs) to select and recruit Part-Time Volunteer Reservists (PTVRs).
Specifically upon successful completion of the RAF Recruiting Course at RAF Cranwell (unless already completed) JNCO Virtual AFCO 1 will be responsible through SNCO Reserves Recruiting Team (SNCO RRT) to SO2 Reserves and Rejoiners for the following aspects of Recruitment and Selection:
Roles & Responsibilities
a. Ensure recruitment performance meets RAF Recruiting and Selection objectives maintaining consistent processes for RAF Reserves Officer and Enlisted Aviator candidates.
b. Process applications received through the Recruitment IT System (RITS) for RAF Reserves recruitment.
c. Verify RAF Reserves eligibility criteria and input applicant details into RITS.
d. Assess applications ensuring candidates are informed and engaged throughout their journey.
e. Maintain and update the RAF Reserves Immediate Recruiting Brief (IRB) ensuring changes are communicated to relevant stakeholders.
f. Administer the processing of RAF Reserves AP 7000s in accordance with AP 7000 Chapter 5 and guidance from senior staff.
g. Maintain accurate and comprehensive records for all Officer and Enlisted Aviator applicants.
h. Record and report daily monthly and yearly statistics to support planning and historical analysis.
i. Respond promptly to recruitment enquiries from Reserve Sqn/RSWs seeking guidance when necessary.
j. Provide advice or information to R&S Policy regarding candidate complaints or information requests.
k. Provide regular updates to line management on all aspects of Reserves recruitment processing.
l. Deputise for the SNCO RRT when required.
m. Assist the R&S Quality & Continuous Improvement Team (QCIT) as needed.
n. Represent the Reserves Recruiting Team at recruitment meetings as required.
o. Support the delivery of Reserve recruiting briefs and workshops through PSTS where needed.
p. Undertake additional tasks as directed by line management.
q. Foster working relationships with all associated key stakeholders including but not limited to RPMC R&S QCIT Sqns/RSWs PSTS AFCOs OASC Control Officer Processing.
