Work directly in conjunction with warehouse management to address food safety concerns. Maintain records of inspections. Make recommendations on dump and damage and repackaging.

$21/hour

Schedule

2PM - 10:30PM

Sunday - Thursday

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Communicate daily with the buyers and warehouse manager on all issues related to perishable items. Make recommendations on dump and damage or repackaging.

  • Inspect and verify Purchase Order quantities for all inbound perishable loads.

  • Inspect all inbound trucks for signs of pest and rodents before unloading.

  • Ensure compliance with all Standard Operating Procedures pertaining to receiving storage and shipping. Identify any issues to warehouse management.

  • Document temperatures of all inbound loads and report to warehouse manager and buyers any violations.

  • Responsible for proper rotation for all produce inventory and various perishable items.

  • Perform daily quality inspections for all perishable items.

  • Perform daily date checks and pull all out dated product from pick and reserve slots.

  • Complete daily dump and damage report and give to warehouse supervisor or inventory control.

Internal:

  • Buyers Warehouse management

External:

  • Interact with Vendors Suppliers Third Party Consultants and Regulatory Bodies

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Training:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 1 year Produce experience (Foodservice Retail Grower/Shipper) or similar required

Related Experience/Requirements:

  • Must be able to operate electric pallet jack
  • Must work well without close supervision
  • Must have good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
  • Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time
  • Team-player flexible and willing to learn new things and adapt as the business evolves

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education specific skills function geographic location and other factors as applicable by law. The expected base rate for this role is between $17.30 and $28.83

As applicable this role will also receive overtime compensation.
