The Director Middle Years is a senior leadership role within the College community grounded in a model of Christian service and integral to the effective day-to-day functioning of the school. Reporting to the Deputy Principal Students the Director Middle Years provides strategic and operational leadership for all aspects of learning wellbeing and administration across Years 7 8 and 9 including curriculum programs student pastoral care transition and the Colleges Outdoor Learning Program.
Working collaboratively as an active member of the Learning Wellbeing and Operations teams the Director leads the coordination of Middle Years programs including subject selection timetabling transition and orientation processes assemblies parent engagement excursions and camps examinations and the Colleges Outdoor Learning Program. The role requires the capacity to build staff capability lead large-scale initiatives manage documentation and compliance and ensure that programs reflect the Colleges commitment to excellence in teaching learning and holistic formation.
The role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills a capacity to support staff wellbeing and pastoral care and the ability to review practices and lead change where required. This position offers the opportunity to make a significant contribution to the life mission and ongoing development of a Catholic secondary school for boys.
It is expected of all employed at Whitefriars College that they accept and support the ethos of the Carmelite order and activities directed at the broader aims of the College (e.g the Carmelite mission in Timor-Leste).
