Job Title: MRI Technologist (Contract)

Assignment Duration: 13 weeks
Schedule: Day Shift 8:00 AM 4:00 PM
Hours: 24 hours/week 3 days/week (8 hours/day)

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced MRI Technologist to perform high-quality magnetic resonance imaging procedures in a fast-paced clinical environment. This role is responsible for patient safety image quality equipment operation and accurate documentation while maintaining compliance with departmental and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
Perform MRI imaging procedures in accordance with established protocols
Position patients and MRI coils to ensure optimal image quality
Educate patients regarding imaging procedures expectations and safety requirements
Review and verify MRI safety questionnaires prior to patient entry into the scan room
Ensure all MRI images are accurately labeled per departmental SOPs
Evaluate images for technical quality and transmit studies to PACS in a timely manner
Complete and close imaging studies in the Radiology Information System (RIS) promptly
Accurately enter and maintain patient tracking and exam information in RIS
Schedule imaging exams in RIS as required
Maintain cleanliness of MRI rooms and equipment at the start and end of each shift
Monitor and maintain adequate supplies and accessories within the imaging area
Scan and upload patient-related documents into the system
Assist physicians during procedures as needed
Coordinate imaging for inpatients as required
Perform clerical duties in the absence of support staff
Report equipment issues or unsafe conditions to appropriate personnel
Maintain strict MRI safety standards to prevent ferromagnetic incidents
Adhere to infection control and safety protocols at all times
Participate in in-services and professional development activities
Maintain active licensure and remain in compliance with applicable public health regulations
Perform additional duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Active MRI Technologist licensure in good standing (New York State)
Demonstrated experience performing MRI procedures in a clinical setting
Strong knowledge of MRI safety protocols and imaging standards
Proficiency with PACS and Radiology Information Systems (RIS)
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a clinical environment
Strong communication and patient-care skills
