THE OPPORTUNITY
The Community Enhancement Officer I plays a vital role in maintaining and improving the safety aesthetics and livability of the community. This entry-level position serves in a training capacity performing routine field inspections to ensure public and private properties comply with City municipal and building codes. Key responsibilities include conducting inspections investigating code violations issuing citations educating the public on regulatory requirements and contributing to community clean-up and enhancement initiatives. Working closely with other departments and agencies this position supports a safe and orderly environment while fostering positive relations with property owners business owners and community members.

MINIMUM AND DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
A typical way of obtaining the knowledge skills and abilities outlined above is graduation from high school or G.E.D. equivalent and one year of experience with municipal ordinances and codes involving public contact; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
A valid California drivers license and the ability to maintain insurability under the Citys vehicle insurance policy. Advanced first aid and CPR certificates or the ability to obtain them within six months of the date of hire.
RECRUITMENT PROCESS:Human Resources (HR) reviews all application materials to determine whether candidates meet the established minimum and preferred qualifications once the position has closed.
