Job Summary: The Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse provides comprehensive nursing care to adult patients recovering from surgical procedures and managing acute medical conditions. This role requires strong clinical skills adaptability and the ability to deliver safe effective care in a fast-paced inpatient setting.

Responsibilities
Deliver direct nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients including post-surgical care.
Perform comprehensive assessments and monitor patient responses to treatments.
Administer medications and IV therapies according to physician orders and protocols.
Manage specialty equipment used in medical-surgical care.
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to implement care plans.
Accurately document patient care in the electronic medical record.
Float to other units as required to support patient care needs.

Requirements
Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience Required
Documented prior travel nursing experience Required
Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
EPIC EMR experience Required
Experience caring for post-surgical patients with diagnoses including abdominal pain cholelithiasis osteoarthritis fractures back pain and bariatric surgery patients
Experience using IV pumps NG tubes and feeding tubes
Floating required
Block scheduling is not guaranteed
Local candidates accepted (local rate applies for candidates within 75 miles)

Education: Graduation from an accredited nursing program Required

License: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the practicing state Required
