Role Description The R&D Technician supports the new product development team by constructing testing modifying and validating prototype systems and components. This hands-on role is critical to the efficient development of new products requiring strong mechanical aptitude and a foundational understanding of testing methodologies to deliver insights and measurable performance data. The R&D Technician ensures designs meet performance reliability and quality standards.
Essential Responsibilities -
Reinforce and promote all core values in daily interactions with coworkers and customers

Collaborate closely with Engineering Production and Leadership teams

Build assemble and modify prototypes and test fixtures based on engineering documentation
-
Set up and conduct mechanical electrical and functional tests per engineering requirements

Document clear and accurate test results including measurements collected data observations and recommendations
-
Partner with engineering teams to troubleshoot design assembly and performance issues
-
Support Engineering with installation practices cost-avoidance initiatives and design for serviceability
-
Provide excellent customer service to dealers customers and internal staff (on-site and virtual)
-
Work effectively with management and cross-functional teams to resolve design issues and address customer needs
-
Maintain organize and manage R&D equipment tools and materials
-
Perform additional duties as assigned
Education & Experience -
Associate degree or technical certification in Engineering Technology or equivalent hands-on experience
-
5 years of experience in an R&D or engineering environment
-
Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on assembly and fabrication skills
-
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and basic schematics
-
Experience with marine systems and electrical controls preferred
-
Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
-
Self-motivated and able to complete tasks with minimal supervision
-
Valid drivers license
