DescriptionSUMMARY:
The Director Human Resources Compliance (U.S./Canada) leads employment compliance for the U.S. and Canada market within a global matrixed HR organization and operates consistently with Marriotts commitment to open doors of opportunity for all. This role is accountable for compliance programs supporting a federal contractor environment including affirmative action planning Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) compliance Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) training employee handbooks and notifications and regulatory reporting. The Director partners closely with Employment Law Labor Relations and HR leaders across the U.S. and Canada to manage risk ensure regulatory adherence and support fair and inclusive employment practices across a dispersed partially unionized workforce.
- Own and lead HR compliance strategy for the U.S. and Canada aligned to global HR governance and local regulatory requirements.
- Direct all federal contractor compliance activities including Affirmative Action Plans for Veterans and people with disabilities VEVRAA and Section 503.
- Lead OFCCP compliance evaluations audits and desk reviews in partnership with the Employment Law department.
- Consult and serve as subject matter expert on EEO compliance including anti-discrimination harassment prevention accommodations and accessibility obligations.
- Oversee implementation of mandatory EEO and compliance training programs for associates and leaders; monitor timely completion and prepare audit-ready records.
- Coordinate timely updates of associate handbooks.
- Ensure timely delivery and posting of all required federal state provincial and local employment law notices including for onboarding offboarding and career websites.
- Direct preparation and submission of all required regulatory reports including EEO-1 VETS-4212 and applicable pay or workforce reports including state and local reports.
- Partner with Labor Relations to ensure compliance practices align with collective bargaining agreements for union-represented employees.
- Coordinate with Talent Acquisition and Talent Management on proactive compliance audits risk assessments and remediation efforts across HR processes and systems.
- Stay abreast of regulatory landscape and lead changes in response to new laws and regulations.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition Reporting and Technology teams regarding process improvements communication and change management strategies related to new launches and deployments.
- Lead teams efforts to continually drive innovation with program compliance including enhanced technology.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to HR leaders and business partners within a matrixed global operating model.

OUR EDUCATION + EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- 10 years of progressive HR compliance experience including significant responsibility in a U.S. federal contractor environment.
- Deep expertise in OFCCP regulations affirmative action planning (including veterans and individuals with disabilities) and EEO compliance.
- Experience supporting a partially unionized workforce and partnering with Labor Relations teams.
- Strong understanding of U.S. federal employment laws and Canadian federal and provincial employment standards.
- Proven ability to operate effectively in a global matrixed HR organization with shared services and centers of expertise.
- Bachelors degree required; advanced degree preferred.
