The HR Manager will serve as both a tactical resource and strategic advisor to business leaders aligning human resources initiatives with organizational objectives. This role will oversee all aspects of human resources for assigned locations including recruitment training performance management compensation and benefits. The HR Manager will also lead initiatives in employee engagement and culture transformation while ensuring compliance with employment laws and company policies. This position will be based in Lynn Indiana and will report to the Chief People Officer.

The monument division produces granite memorials and markers custom granite signage and engraved brick pavers and engages in wholesale monument sales.

Division Overview Astral

Astral Industries: Astral Industries is a premier manufacturer of high-quality steel burial caskets offering a diverse range of products including metal solid wood engineered wood veneer wood and cremation caskets. The division is unique in its ability to purchase raw steel coils and produce finished powder-coated caskets within a single facility. Astrals manufacturing capabilities include electro-mechanical assembly fabrication sheet metal forming stamping structural welding and automated powder coating. The company utilizes advanced processes such as a 6-stage pre-treatment for protective coatings and fully automated powder coat lines capable of handling large parts. These capabilities ensure that Astral Industries delivers best-in-class products with exceptional consistency and quality.

Position Overview

The HR Manager will serve as both a tactical resource and strategic advisor to business leaders aligning human resources initiatives with organizational objectives. The HR Manager will also lead initiatives in employee engagement and culture transformation while ensuring compliance with employment laws and company policies. This position will be based in Lynn Indiana and will report to the Chief People Officer.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Core HR Operations

  • Oversee benefits administration and leave management through coordination with Corporate HR support staff.
  • Oversee recruitment of non-exempt positions hiring onboarding and employee development programs.
  • Assist Talent Acquisition Manager on the hiring and onboarding of professional and management positions.
  • Maintain personnel files for all active employees and manage HR transactions in HRIS system (Workday) accurately and on a timely basis.
  • Provide accurate tracking of attendance for non-exempt personnel including verification of call-ins

Employee Development and Performance

  • Identify training needs and coordinate with Corporate HR to develop programs to support employee growth and skill development.
  • Coach managers on performance management employee development and team effectiveness.
  • Prepare track and conduct employee training sessions to reflect strategic talent development.
  • Assist senior HR leadership with talent reviews succession planning and leadership development programs.

Workplace Culture and Employee Relations

  • Provide guidance on complex employee relations issues.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and internal policies.
  • Conduct investigations and recommend resolutions for sensitive matters.
  • Design and implement employee engagement strategies and action plans.
  • Serve as a culture ambassador promoting company values and fostering a positive work environment.

Strategic HR Leadership

  • Partner with regional and local management to ensure strategic HR goals are aligned with business objectives
  • Analyze HR metrics and provide insights to drive data-informed decisions.
  • Drive change management strategies to support business transformation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in human resources Business or related field;masters degree or HR certification (e.g. SHRM-SCP SPHR) preferred.
  • 7 years of progressive HR experience with at least 3 years in a HR Manager/HR Business Partner or leadership role.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and data analytics tools.
