Position Overview

A specialty-focused orthopedic hospital in a major metropolitan area is seeking an experienced and patient-centered MRI Technologist for a short-term travel assignment. This role supports high-quality imaging services in a fast-paced orthopedic environment using advanced MRI technology.

The MRI Technologist will perform both inpatient and outpatient scans collaborate closely with radiologists and clinical teams and ensure patient safety comfort and image quality. Occasional extended hours may be required to accommodate inpatient imaging needs.

Workload & Unit Information

  • Average Daily Census: 7 patients

  • MRI Rooms: 1

  • Staffing Ratio (Days): 1:2

  • Patient Population: Neonates Infants Pediatrics Adolescents Adults Geriatrics

  • Rotating Shifts: None

Systems & Support

  • Documentation System: EPIC

  • Medication / Supply System: Omnicell

  • Interdisciplinary Support: Radiology Pharmacy Physical Therapy Rapid Response Teams Social Services Transportation Interpretation Services

Required Licenses & Certifications

  • Active State Radiologic Technologist License

  • ARRT (MR)

  • BLS

  • IV Certification (must be in hand prior to start; venipuncture certification alone is not sufficient)

Cardiovascular Imaging

  • MR Cardiac (with and without contrast)

Musculoskeletal Imaging

  • Foot Hand Hip/Bony Pelvis Knee

  • Lower & Upper Extremity Long Bones

  • Shoulder Sternum TMJ (with/without contrast)

Clinical & Professional Skills

  • Preparation and administration of contrast media

  • Peripheral IV insertion

Preferred Skills

Advanced Cardiovascular

  • MR Cardiac with Stress

  • MR Aortogram MR Pulmonary

  • MR Angiography (Lower Extremity with Bilateral Runoff)

Body Imaging

  • Abdomen Female/Male Pelvis

  • MRCP MRA MRV

Head Neck & Spine

  • Brain Cranial Nerves Orbits

  • Cervical Thoracic Lumbar Sacrum/Coccyx Spinal Trauma

Special Imaging & Techniques

  • CINE Diffusion (non-brain) Gradient Echo

  • Post-processing (mapping subtraction)

  • MIP MPR Perfusion Spectroscopy

  • Surface Coils T1/T2 Weighted Imaging

Equipment & Systems

  • PACS

  • Siemens MRI scanners
