SCHOOL OF CONTINUING EDUCATION
The School of Continuing Education one of the seven Faculties/Schools of the University and a major provider of continuing and professional education in Hong Kong offers a wide range of full- and part-time programmes at the post-secondary undergraduate and postgraduate levels for young learners and working adults. It also offers in-house training and short courses to meet the community needs and market demands. Operated on a self-financed basis the School and its College of International Education currently employ about 400 full-time staff and 550 part-time instructors. The School is inviting applications for the following position:
Senior Human Resources Manager ()
The School aims to complete registration as a post-secondary college within the next three years committed to enhancing the internationalisation and diversification of higher education and developing distinctive and professional programmes that address the manpower needs of society. It is seeking a suitable candidate to lead and develop the Human Resources Section through a period of strategic change of the School. The appointee is to take charge of various human resources management functions including manpower planning compensation and benefits recruitment and performance management employee relations policies and committee work etc. Once this strategic development is solidified it is planned that the role will evolve with a long-term prospect.
Applicants should have a bachelors degree and preferably a higher degree in human resources management with a proven track record in sizeable organisations and at least 7 years of solid human resources management and supervisory experience. The right candidate should have excellent interpersonal communication skills and problem-solving skills to oversee the full employee lifecycle manage implementation of HR management systems improve work processes and to tackle complex HR issues. The appointee is expected to have excellent communication skills with a high standard of both written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua) and good knowledge of legal compliance and employment-related ordinances. Experience in tertiary education setting and/or knowledge on the development of the self-financing post-secondary education section is an advantage.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test.
The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract ending in August 2027. Further appointment will be subject to mutual agreement.
