Job Summary

We are partnering with a leading equipment manufacturer to hire a Johor-based Procurement & Logistics Manager (HOD) to lead and transform their end-to-end procurement and logistics function in Malaysia. This role is responsible for defining strategic sourcing frameworks driving cost and supplier performance and directly overseeing logistics operations to support business growth and operational excellence.

Beyond day-to-day leadership this role carries a strong change mandate to redesign organisational structures standardize processes and elevate procurement and logistics into a strategic value-creating function.

Responsibilities:

Procurement & Strategic Sourcing

  • Oversee procurement activities covering direct and indirect materials to ensure quality cost delivery and compliance objectives are met

  • Develop and maintain strategic sourcing plans aligned with business needs and long-term supplier relationships

  • Lead supplier selection evaluation contract negotiation and performance management

  • Ensure procurement policies procedures and approval controls are consistently applied

Logistics & Operations Oversight

  • Direct logistics operations including inbound and outbound transportation warehousing and coordination with logistics partners

  • Ensure stable and timely material flow to support manufacturing engineering and project execution

  • Monitor logistics cost service levels and compliance with internal and external requirements

  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to resolve supply and delivery issues

Organization & Process Improvement

  • Review existing procurement and logistics structures and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and clarity of roles

  • Standardize processes documentation and workflows in line with corporate guidelines and best practices

  • Support system enhancements and data accuracy for procurement and logistics operations

  • Promote continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring minimal operational disruption

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management Engineering Business Management or related field

  • 10 years of relevant experience in procurement logistics or supply chain management with 2-3 years of leadership experience

  • Prior experience leading both procurement and logistics functions in the manufacturing industry

  • Familiarity with manufacturing industrial automation or project-based environments

  • Experience in process standardization organizational improvement and policy implementation

  • Strong commercial acumen with proven negotiation and supplier management capabilities
