Meeting and Events Program Manager- On-site Oakland CA

The Meeting and Events Program Manager plays a critical role in delivering high-quality consistent and memorable event experiences across Blocks portfolio. This role sits within the JLL Experience Services and partners closely with the Block events team to lead event delivery support strategic program development and ensure operational excellence.

This is a hands-on leadership role that blends strategy people leadership and execution. You will act as a player-coach leading JLL Events Coordinators while stepping in to support event execution during high-volume periods escalations or complex event needs.

Check out some of your day:

  • Lead event program strategy and execution by ensuring alignment with Blocks global standards serving as primary strategic contact for coordinators vendors and venue partners and directly supporting high-profile events with senior leadership participation during peak periods.
  • Manage and develop event team through mentoring JLL Events Coordinators providing day-to-day guidance and escalation support acting as player-coach during high-volume periods and supporting onboarding training and continuous development initiatives.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration with Workplace Facilities End Experience Services IT/AV and Operations teams to integrate event services with site operations while partnering with Blocks Global Events Lead to promote consistency and scale successful models.
  • Develop and optimize program processes by creating and maintaining event documentation playbooks SOPs and execution guidelines while identifying improvement opportunities through process standardization and trend analysis.
  • Establish performance measurement systems by tracking key metrics aligned to client and program goals implementing continuous improvement initiatives and streamlining event-related procedures with the Operations Manager.
  • Cultivate stakeholder relationships and service excellence by building strong connections with Block stakeholders maintaining proactive high-touch service delivery that exceeds expectations and gathering feedback to enhance future event experiences.

Here is who we are looking for:

  • Experience Requirements: 5 years in meetings and events hospitality and/or workplace experience with demonstrated team leadership experience in matrixed or client-facing environments and experience managing high-profile or executive-level events.
  • Leadership and Communication: Strong leadership and coaching abilities with a hands-on approach excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills and outstanding written and verbal communication capabilities for building collaborative relationships across all organizational levels.
  • Technical and Analytical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Word PowerPoint Outlook Visio) strong organizational and analytical aptitude and solid financial acumen for managing event budgets and performance metrics.
  • Work Style and Adaptability: Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in fast-paced environments demonstrate flexibility and solution-oriented thinking when navigating ambiguity and maintain a collaborative approach while delivering high-quality results under pressure.

Pay $110.000-117000 with a 10% targeted bonus of the annual salary

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. with flexibility needed for events

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications location market conditions and internal considerations.
